Kensington Palace Artist-In-Residence 2011 / 2012
Responding to tiny fragments of historic wallpapers uncovered during renovation works at Kensington Palace, I created a series of layered pattern drawings using pigment washes and block printing techniques inspired by research into traditional wallpaper making processes. Alongside these paper works, I also created pieces using acrylic sheet and mirror, collage and hand sewn elements. The pieces were made specifically for the opening of a new learning environment within the palace and I devised a series of workshops with a variety of learning groups during the residency. The commission work and further pieces were purchased and are now in the permanent collection at Kensington Palace.
