The Quilted Multiverse
A visual metaphor pertaining to the theory that alternative realities are acted out in parallel universes. Each version exists adjacent to but too distant to perceive from its neighbouring universe. I like the juxtaposition of the quilt in a theoretical science context; quilts having a tactile quality and connotations of domesticity, tradition, comfort and women’s workmanship and quantum physics dealing with the enormity of space, the intangible, immaterial fabric of the universe.
